Grading the Deadline Deals

Cleveland Cavaliers

Additions –

From Los Angeles (Clippers): Baron Davis and a first-round pick (unprotected)

Losses – Mo Williams and Jamario Moon

Grade – A

The Cavs got what they just wanted: more draft picks. As expected, they are a rebuilding team and need plenty of picks for the upcoming years. Cleveland comes out of the trade deadline with a unprotected lottery pick for the 2011 draft. Although Davis’ contract still has a few years left, the Cavs only have to hold him for a short time before they come up with young talents. With a few lottery picks in the draft this year, the Cavs could possibly ship Davis out along with a high pick if the Clippers draw lucky in the lottery.
