After an exciting win over the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarter-Finals last night the team is looking like a lock to advance to the second round of the playoffs.
However, one member of the team will be doing a little extra celebrating on Wednesday.
Today marks the 31st birthday for Laker reserve Troy Murphy. Murphy, who joined the Lakers last off-season, has played sporadically for the team this season. Murphy averaged 3.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 59 games this season with the Lakers.
Murphy was originally drafted by the Golden State Warriors with the 14th overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft out of Notre Dame.
He has played for the Warriors, Pacers, Nets, Celtics and Lakers during his career.
