In honor of Halloween we have decided to put together a quick tutorial from a project we worked on last year. Lakers Nation girl Alexandra put her artistic skills to the test, and carved the ultimate Lakers Nation pumpkin.
First she needed a stencil, so she sketched the crest onto a piece of paper, which turned out to be a very difficult task.
Next: Finishing up the Stencil
The completed stencil looked quite impressive, especially considering she was about to stick it with a hundred tiny holes.
Next: The Carving Process
After completing the stencil she needed to put it onto the pumpkin so she had an outline to begin to carve. While it broke her heart to destroy her picture, it was for the greater good.
Next: Beginning to Take Shape
Her pumpkin started to take form. The crest was undeniable, and there was no doubt this was turning into a real work of art.
Next: The Finishing Touches
As the pumpkin neared completion it only needed a few finishing touches to be ready for display. After a few minor details were completed, Alexandra was just about done with her Lakers Nation pumpkin. We should also point out that this pumpkin was done before the Lakers notched their 16th championship, hence the XV on the crest.
Next: The Final Product
After it was all finished, she put it next to the Larry O’Brien trophy. This was truly a product that represents Lakers Nation!
Thanks again to our good friend Alexandra for making this excellent pumpkin. Every year there are two October traditions, carving pumpkins and the beginning of Lakers basketball!
