Important Labor Meeting Scheduled For Wednesday

The NBA league executives and the Players Union will have a crucial labor meeting tomorrow in New York City. This will be the third gathering since the owners locked out the players on July 1st.

The previous two meetings were conducted by high-level officials from both parties, and it seems as though the same will occur on Wednesday. For the owners David Stern, Adam Silver and Peter Holt will attend and for the Union Billy Hunter, Derek Fisher and Ron Klempner will be the representatives.

If all goes well on Wednesday, sources say both sides will convene again on Thursday and possibly Friday. This is a great sign for NBA fans, and it looks as though the parties are making progress in signing a new CBA. ESPN’s Chris Sheridan believes this lockout will not last for long and expects the NBA to start on time. If this upcoming meeting is a success, we may in fact see the Lakers play their first game on Nov. 1st.
