After suffering a thumb injury in practice last week while guarding Kobe Bryant, Nick Young could miss as much as two months following surgery. Losing Young could prove costly for the Los Angeles Lakers, but the sixth man remains in high spirits.
On Monday, Young headed into surgery and posted the following picture on Instagram:
With Young on the shelf for six to eight weeks, head coach Byron Scott will be without his best player off the bench to start the season. Kobe Bryant will likely have to shoulder the load offensively while Scott tries to figure out the rotation.
Kobe and rookie Jordan Clarkson will play some small forward with Young out the next two months. Clarkson will have an opportunity to make an impression early.
