Jahlil Okafor Respects Lakers Being All About Winning: ‘Love To Be Here’

The Los Angeles Lakers own the second overall pick in the upcoming 2015 NBA Draft and Jahlil Okafor has the best odds to land with the storied franchise on draft day later this month.

Okafor had a private workout with the Lakers on Tuesday morning and answered questions from the media immediately after. The former Blue Devil says the transition from a winning culture with Duke to potentially being drafted by the Lakers would be natural, according to Bill Oram of the Orange County Register:

In addition, Okafor says he respects the Lakers being all about winning and would love to be here, via Kevin Ding of Bleacher Report:

Karl-Anthony Towns out of Kentucky and Okafor are considered to be the top two prospects in the draft. Although Towns is getting a lot of recognition as the better of the two centers, there’s still a chance the Minnesota Timberwolves take Okafor over the former Wildcat.

As of right now, Okafor is more than likely headed to Los Angeles if everything goes as expected on draft day come June 25. The Lakers are seemingly leaning toward taking one of the two centers with Okafor having the highest possibility of being available when Los Angeles is on the clock.
