Jerry Buss: Lakers ‘Very Close’ On Deciding Next Head Coach

According to Mark Medina of the L.A. Times, the Lakers are very close to naming their next head coach.

An interview with Los Angeles Lakers’ owner Dr. Jerry Buss has revealed that the team is close to choosing who will lead the Lakers from the bench in 2011-2012. There have been numerous candidates mentioned in the coaching search, but the team hasn’t revealed which direction they’re leaning towards.

Dr. Buss stated, “Obviously, we have to select somebody who has a reputation that players would be happy with. But to ask a direct player to select a particular coach, that’s general manager territory. That’s out of the player domain.”

Whoever the Lakers choose the decision will be met with much scrutiny and analysis. For the full story be sure to check out the L.A. Times article.
