Jim Buss: Kobe Bryant Will Be With Lakers For Life

During an interview on 710 ESPN’s Mason and Ireland Show on Friday, Lakers VP Jim Buss was asked about star player Kobe Bryant, and his future with the team.

There have been some rumors surrounding the future of the team and Bryant, and whether or not they might consider using their amnesty clause on Bryant to get out from under his burdensome contract.

Buss, however, was quick to squash that rumor during the interview with 710 ESPN:

“I think Kobe is going to be a Laker for life and I’m pretty sure he’s not going to hang them up after two years.”

This news comes just one day after Bryant publicly declared his support for Buss on the same radio program. Bryant stated his faith in Buss’ decisions, and said that their relationship was fine despite rumors to the contrary.

This will certainly be something most Laker fans will be pleased to hear. Bryant has been with the Lakers since his rookie season in 1996, and while he has flirted with leaving the team on several occasions, has managed to remain with the Lakers for his entire career.
