With the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 19, there are questions if the Los Angeles Lakers will be active or keep their roster intact for the final 29 games of the season. While the attention has been on Goran Dragic, the Lakers have also expressed interest in his teammate, Miles Plumlee.

While Jordan Hill suffered a hip flexor strain, he is having the best season of his career and numerous teams have expressed interest in him. Despite the Lakers missing the playoffs for the second consecutive season, Hill says he wants to remain in Los Angeles according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News:

“I want to be here,” Hill said. “I want to be a in a steady place I call home.”

While Hill would like to remain in Los Angeles, he understands the situation as the trade deadline is just two days away:

“It’s nothing I can control. Whatever happens, happens. I’ll keep on moving forward,” Hill said in an interview with Los Angeles Newspaper Group. “Nobody knows what will happen. No one knows who will be here. Anybody can be gone. But it’s what you sign up for.”

After being traded to the Lakers for Derek Fisher in 2012, Hill has been on the roster the longest, only trailing Kobe Bryant. While it appeared Hill was going to sign elsewhere last season, he ultimately re-signed to a two-year, $18 million contract (team option) with the Lakers.

Although there were doubts about his contract, Hill has improved his perimeter game and started every single game this season before going down with another injury. Appearing in 48 games, Hill averaged 12.3 points and 8.0 rebounds in 28.0 minutes.
