Kobe Bryant Addresses Retirement via Facebook Page

In a recent interview with Ken Berger of CBS Sports, Kobe Bryant reiterated a desire to retire once his current contract is up in two years. Bryant originally made these comments last season, but hasn’t said anything since.

After the comments were made public, Bryant took to his personal Facebook page to talk to the fans and address the rumors that they might only have two more years to watch him on the court.

“As far as retirement, I’m not sure how many years I have left but know this: IF and When I announce my retirement, I will do so directly to you first. Let’s focus on getting this season taken care of. It should be a fun one. I feel strong, light and quick. I can’t wait till Oct 31. It’s on.”

Does this mean Kobe will announce his retirement via Facebook? That would be very modern of him. Maybe he’ll set up a retirement playlist on Spotify and share it with all his fans. Or he’ll post a picture of his shoes on Pinterest.

Okay, I’m done with the terrible social media jokes. The point here is that Bryant isn’t ready to talk about retirement yet.

And that’s very good news.
