Kobe Bryant Advised Alex Rodriguez on Knee Procedure

There has been all sorts of talk regarding Kobe Bryant’s experimental knee procedure that he had done in Germany during the NBA lockout. The procedure has been mysterious mainly because it has not been approved yet by the FDA, making it illegal in the United States.

However, Bryant had the surgery done over the summer and has stated that his knee feels better than it has in years. In fact, Bryant said that it is “as close to 100 percent as it’s going to get.”

Now it appears that Bryant helped persuade a fellow sports superstar to have the procedure. According to the New York Times, New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez also has undergone the Orthokine treatment in Germany, and it seems that Bryant is the main reason why.

“I gave him the phone number,” Bryant said.

Rodriguez reportedly had the procedure done on his left shoulder and right knee.

When asked about where he first heard about the experimental operation Bryant decided to keep things close to the chest.

“You have people that you pay to know these things,” Bryant replied.

Naturally.
