Kobe Bryant Feeling ‘Mix Of Emotions’ Heading Into 19th Season

Five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant will do the rounds at media day once again on Monday with the veteran shooting guard a month away from entering his 19th NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

With media day set to get underway in a few hours, Kobe sent out a tweet that was a bit surprising for someone that doesn’t let his emotions get the best of him. Kobe said the following via Twitter:

Although Kobe hasn’t ruled out the possibility of playing beyond his current contract with the Lakers, the writing does appear to be on the wall in terms of him walking away in two years time.

With that being said, every annual routine will hold a different kind of importance to the future Hall of Famer over the next two years. Kobe may have even seen New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter end his career in pinstripes in spectacular fashion over the weekend reminding him that the end is near.

Whatever the case may be, Kobe seems to be coming to the realization that the countdown has begun. If he’s able to stay healthy, and that is a major concern at this point, Kobe will have only 164 games left wearing purple and gold. A large number, but small in comparison to the journey he’s been on up to this point.
