Kobe Bryant On Teammates: ‘I Don’t Want Pushovers’

After the loss to the Phoenix Suns, Kobe Bryant talked about how he wants Jeremy Lin to take control of the offense. While Lin spoke about still finding his “niche” and “role” after two games, the point guard was aggressive against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.

Late in the fourth quarter, Lin waived Kobe off and drilled a three pointer late in the shot clock to give the Lakers the lead. Following their third straight loss, Kobe talked about the possession and how he doesn’t want “chumps” as teammates via Lakers Nation senior writer, Ryan Ward:

Despite their third straight loss to start the season, the five-time champion felt the Lakers figured out some things. With Lin getting comfortable with running the offense, this will allow Bryant to play off the ball and attack.

With the Lakers taking on the Golden State Warriors on the second night of the back-to-back on Saturday, Los Angeles will look to build on this loss. After their fourth game in five nights tomorrow, the Lakers will have an opportunity to rest and get some more practices in.
