Kobe Bryant On The Clippers: ‘They’re Just Better’

The Los Angeles Lakers fell to their cross-town rivals Wednesday night and the game was one fans would certainly like to forget. It was an embarrassing showing for the Lakers as the Clippers once again dominated this episode of the “Battle of LA.” The Clippers were able to put up 70 points at the half and eventually eased their way to the finish line with a 114-89 victory.

After the game, Kobe Bryant spoke to the media and was completely straightforward with the state of the Lakers. The five-time champion has not seen many great Clippers teams in his time in Los Angeles, but he has to admit their excellence after a 25-point beatdown, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Kobe finished the night with just four points, but he did add in eight rebounds and seven assists. However, as a team, the Lakers shot a mediocre 43 percent from the field and committed 13 turnovers, compared to only six by the Clippers. In addition, every single one of the Lakers’ starters had a plus/minus below 10, whereas the Clippers’ starting unit all had numbers above 30, something which is truly jaw dropping.

Ever since the Lakers and Clippers have shared a city, there has never been a time like this in that the Clippers are miles ahead of the Purple and Gold. Although the Lakers are no doubt the more successful franchise, it is a little concerning seeing the Clippers making progress as a team while the Lakers are struggling to stay afloat.
