Yesterday, Mike Trudell reported that Kobe Bryant was injured in the sixth preseason game against the Sacramento Kings.
Kobe Bryant has a strained & bruised right foot, sustained in the 3rd Q last night. He didn’t practice today & is listed as day-to-day.

Kobe returned to the the game, and there appeared to be little concern over it.

However, today Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times provided an update of the injury, and it appears to be significant enough to keep Kobe Bryant out of the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Kobe said his bruised/strained foot was sore enough that he wouldn’t play Wednesday vs. Clippers, even if it was a regular-season game.

Since it is just a preseason game, the precaution Bryant is taking is certainly a good sign. Even though the Lakers are still winless on the preseason, another loss on Wednesday wouldn’t be nearly as devastating as Bryant sustaining a worse injury.
