Kobe Bryant Signed On to Lead NBA Stars Around the World

A myriad of NBA stars are finalizing a two-week, six-game, three-continent basketball tour with stops in Puerto Rico, London, Macau and Australia. Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant will be one of the likely 16 players that will participate in this massive world tour.

ESPN: “In a trip that could resemble Team USA’s takeover of the world stage at the 2008 Beijing Games, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, Rajon Rondo, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Carlos Boozer, Paul Pierce and Kevin Love are among the players expected to participate. Kevin Durant and Kevin Garnett, among a few others, are also contemplating joining the tour.”

Atlanta business man Calvin Darden has been planning the tour for over three months, and has received signed contracts from six NBA players including Kobe Bryant. As for the other NBA athletes mentioned above, Darden hopes to finalize their deal over the next few days.

The games are scheduled for Oct. 30 through Nov. 9, and the arenas where the matches will be hosted can contain at least 15,000 fans. Darden hopes that these ‘all-star’ matches can be shown in American networks.
