Kobe Bryant Talks About Importance of Team Chemistry on Twitter

jordan-farmar-kobe-bryant-2010-1-4-0-10-42The Los Angeles Lakers did not win a championship with Dwight Howard on the roster, adding strength to the statement that chemistry is far more important than player talent.

Even though the Lakers had one of the most talented rosters on paper in the league last season, locker room troubles played a role in their first round exit in the postseason. Unlike the back-to-back title run from 2009 to 2010, the 2012-13 Lakers never had the feel of a cohesive unit. Albeit the team faced many injuries, it was clear chemistry was an issue throughout the regular season.

After the departure of Howard, the Lakers moved on to their Plan B, and so far it has consisted of adding players that want to play in Los Angeles. The Lakers have signed Chris Kaman and former team point guard Jordan Farmar, two role players that are willingly and excited to suit up for the purple and gold.

This is something of value to any team, as echoed by Kobe Bryant’s tweet from Tuesday:

Bryant took to Twitter to talk about the recent moves, and he will surely enjoy having his old backcourt mate, Jordan Farmar, in the lineup. Farmar and Bryant worked well in their championship years, and the former UCLA Bruin will be a great fit behind Steve Nash.

The Lakers are also looking to bring back Lamar Odom, a fan favorite in his time in Los Angeles and a versatile forward that will add some size to the roster.
