Kobe, LeBron James Discuss All-Star Matchup, Kobe’s Block

NBA: All Star GameIn the fourth quarter of the All-Star Game in Houston, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James went at one another on several possessions. Bryant got the best of James on several occasions, and after the contest they both talked about it.

Needless to say, Kobe was a little more excited about it than LeBron was.

“Me? Trash talk? Never. I don’t do that. I’m a nice guy. But I didn’t want him to score on me. Damn it. I gave him two free throws down there. It was a great, great post move.”

James, who did manage to get fouled by Bryant and go to the line, seems to be on his way to another MVP award this season. But that just motivated Bryant more.

“(I love) the challenge. Doing what everyone deems impossible.”

There’s no question slowing down LeBron has been a hard task for the entire league so far this season, but Bryant did as good a job as anyone in Houston on Sunday. But when I asked James about the play where Bryant blocked him and what Kobe was saying to him on the court, he wasn’t too revealing.

“A little bit of everything. We were just talking about the game and the moves we were making out there on the floor. It was all in good spirits.”

There’s no question that LeBron is the most dominant basketball talent on the planet as of right now, but on this night, when all the league’s stars were together on one stage, it was the 5-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant that got the best of the league’s blossoming legend.
