Lakers Announce Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Statue Unveiling Date

The Los Angeles Lakers have officially announced when they will unveil legendary center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s statue outside of Staples Center next season. The all-time leading scorer in NBA history will have his likeness immortalized outside of the arena this season after another former great, Jerry West, was given the same honor two seasons ago.

In a statement released by the Lakers organization, the team announced that Abdul-Jabbar’s statue will be unveiled on Friday, Nov. 16th.

Abdul-Jabbar will join the likes of West, Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson and Chick Hearn as Laker legends to have statues built outside of Staples Center.
