Lakers Assign Darius Morris to D-League

The Los Angeles Lakers have announced they are assigning rookie Darius Morris to the Developmental League to play for the Los Angeles D-Fenders.

Morris has played in 13 games for the Lakers this season, and has averaged 2.7 points and 1.1 assists in 10.3 minutes. He was drafted by the Lakers with the 41st overall pick in last summer’s NBA Draft out of Michigan.

The announcement was made today by Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak.

Morris becomes the third player assigned to the D-League this season for the Lakers.

Following an impressive debut in the Lakers’ first pre-season game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Morris has struggled to earn consistent minutes behind Derek Fisher and Steve Blake.
