Last night’s win over the Denver Nuggets was exciting for several reasons. The Lakers managed to get the win without star player Kobe Bryant, who missed his fourth straight game due to a sore shin, but they also got the win without coach Mike Brown, who was a late scratch due to personal reasons.

However, the team was still able to take the floor and get a big win. Much of this was due to Matt Barnes and the rest of the team’s supporting cast.

The 103-97 win over the Nuggets was also important as it was the win that clinched a post-season birth for the Lakers.

Los Angeles now sits at 38-22, and are in third place in the Western Conference, and are 2.5 games ahead of the Clippers in the standings.

While the team has loftier goals than simply reaching the playoffs, this is the first step in achieving their ultimate goal of reaching the NBA Finals, and possibly bringing home another championship.
