Lakers Nation has a first time dunk winner this week! For once, the award doesn’t belong to Dwight Howard, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol or Earl Clark. Instead, our winner is the 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Kentucky, who often gets criticized for taking it to the hoop. This time it was a different story.
In the Lakers last regular season game against the Houston Rockets, Chandler Parsons hit a line drive three-pointer that found it’s way in the net at the regulation buzzer. As if it was an exclamation point on the way this season has gone for the Lakers, the Lakers-Rockets went into overtime to fight for the seventh seed.

With overtime winding down, James Harden drove down the middle for an easy bucket to bring Houston within one point and just a minute remaining. Then, Steve Blake kicks it out to Jodie Meeks who flies by James Harden baseline and does the unthinkable, a massive throwdown dunk to put the Lakers ahead by three points.
Funny thing is, Lakers Nation asked Meeks about his will to drive to the basket, no matter who’s in the paint, after Tuesday’s practice. Check out the dunk that brought the Lakers into the seventh seed.
