Lakers Hoping Andrew Bynum’s Suspension Will be Reduced

The last memory we have of the Los Angeles Lakers on the basketball court certainly isn’t a very pleasant one. A 30-point blowout to cap off a sweep at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks was embarrassing enough, but the way that several Lakers players lost their composure was certainly unacceptable.

Most people will remember Andrew Bynum being ejected from the game after a blatant elbow to the head of Mavericks guard J.J. Barea. Bynum was suspended for the first five games of the 2011-12 season for this offense.

Now, according to Mike Bresnahan of the L.A. Times, it seems that the Lakers are looking to get this suspension reduced. Since the upcoming season will only be 66 games rather than 82, the team is hoping the league will adjust Bynum’s suspension accordingly.
