Lakers Injury Update: Jordan Farmar Likely To Return In Mid-February

Jordan Farmar Injury
Injuries, especially to the point guards, have completely ruined this season for the Lakers. Jordan Farmar had played some of the best basketball of his career, before going down to two separate hamstring tears, the second of which came at the end of 2013.

Reports said that Farmar would likely miss somewhere between four and six weeks because of the injury, and, according to Bill Oram of the OC Register, it is looking more like the latter:

With both hamstring tears coming in the same leg, it makes complete sense that Farmar takes his time and is 110 percent healthy before returning to the floor. Xavier Henry looks like he could be getting back on the floor soon, but other than that, the rest of the Lakers still seem to be a ways away.

Kobe Bryant’s timetable for a return is still a question mark, while both Steve Blake and Steve Nash seem unlikely to return before February as well. With Kendall Marshall doing an excellent job of holding down the point guard position, Farmar can afford to take his time coming back as the Lakers do have a point guard on the floor.

Farmar had just seemed to hit his stride before falling victim to the first hamstring tear. After returning, Farmar played in only four games before suffering the second tear. He is averaging just under nine points and five assists for the season.
