Lakers Injury Update: Nash And Blake Expected To Play On Tuesday

Injuries have plagued the Lakers for the entire season with Pau Gasol the most recent player to go down. However, good news has started to fall the Lakers way. With all three injured point guards participating in practice for the past two days, there is hope that they could all suit up for tomorrow’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves via Lakers’ official Twitter account:

Nash has been out since early November, having only played in six games this season, with nerve irritation stemming from his leg break last season. Blake has been out since early December with a torn ligament in his elbow and Farmar re-injured his torn hamstring in early January after rushing back to help an injury-riddled Lakers squad. With Kendall Marshall the only true healthy point guard on the roster, adding depth to the position will add some much needed stability to the second unit.

All three players have been full participants in practice and there is feeling in the air that they could all be back as early as tomorrow. D’Antoni has yet to announce his starting five as he is holding out hope that all three guards will be healthy for tomorrow’s game according to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell:

While the Lakers struggling mightily over the past month, the addition of Nash, Blake, and Farmar could help the team turn around their recent record and snap a six-game losing streak. The Lakers have missed the most games missed due to injuries out of all the NBA teams and any returning player is sure to make an impact immediately.
