In the 117-107 loss to the Washington Wizards on Friday night, guard Xavier Henry initially suffered a sore wrist after falling on it in the third quarter. While an X-ray after the game came back negative, it appears Henry may be out for quite some time.

An MRI showed that Henry has a torn ligament in his wrist and he will be examined by a hand specialist on Monday via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

After being sidelined for nearly two months with a bruised knee, Henry has played fairly well since his return. While he had his best game on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs in which he scored 24 points, head coach Mike D’Antoni suggested that the guard was still dealing with pain.

In 23 minutes against the Wizards, Henry finished with 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists. After the game, Henry was optimistic that the injury was not serious and would likely be able to play on Sunday against the Orlando Magic.

With Steve Nash a game-time decision against Orlando after a slight tweak in his hamstring, the Lakers will be shorthanded once again. While it appeared that the Lakers were finally able to get relatively healthy for the final stretch of games, it is going to be an uphill battle as the team attempts to avoid being the worst in franchise history.
