Lakers, Jazz Beat Clippers, Heat in Television Ratings

The Los Angeles Lakers game against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night wasn’t nationally televised. L.A.’s other team, the Clippers, were up against the Miami Heat in a nationally televised game on ESPN.

The Lakers game against the peaked at a 12.8 rating on KCAL9 on Wednesday night, beating out the Los Angeles Clippers and the Miami Heat game that was on ESPN.

According to CBS Los Angeles the locally broadcast Lakers game out-scored the nationally televised Clippers game.

“The Clippers drew a 4.9 HH* combined rating between the Fox Sports Net telecast and ESPN in the Los Angeles market, while the Lakers telecast drew an 8.0 HH rating.”

For all the talk around town that the Lakers have become second-fiddle to the reloaded Clippers, here’s one slice of evidence that still suggests otherwise.

Special thanks to CBS L.A. and Amarina27 for the story scoop.
