Former Los Angeles Lakers guard and future Hall-of-Famer Kobe Bryant added another achievement to his nearly endless list of them when he was nominated for a Webby award in the Animation Video category for his Oscar-winning short film, “Dear Basketball.”

Other nominees in the category include the short films “Agent 327: Operation Barbershop” from Blender Animation Studio, “Happiness” from Steve Cutts, “Extrapolate” from Johan Rijpma and “The Story of O. J.” from The Mill. All the films can be viewed on the Webby’s official website.

Also nominated with Bryant for “Dear Basketball” are Glen Keane Productions and Believe Entertainment Group. Legendary composer John Williams scored the film.

Bryant was excited about the achievement, and posted a tweet asking his fans to vote for “Dear Basketball” to rack up another accolade. He would be the first NBA player to win a Webby.

Fans have until April 19 to cast their votes and try to help Bryant add another trophy to his rapidly filling case. Even if Bryant doesn’t win, garnering another nomination for his first short film would seem to guarantee he’ll be back for more, and we’ve all seen how he comes back and attacks things when he doesn’t win them the first time.

Bryant has dominated in basically every field he’s chosen to commit himself to (perhaps with the exception being rap music) ever since stepping in to the public spotlight. And with his work ethic, perhaps it shouldn’t be a surprise that his first foray into filmmaking hasn’t been any different.
