Lakers Legend James Worthy Celebrates 51st Birthday

Today is Los Angeles Lakers legend James Worthy’s 51st birthday, and we here at Lakers Nation would like to wish ‘Big Games James’ a happy birthday!

Worthy played 12 seasons in the NBA, and all of them were with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers drafted Worthy with the first overall pick in the 1982 and he helped the Lakers win three NBA titles during the Showtime era.

In his illustrious NBA career, Worthy averaged 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and three assists per game. In terms of individual accolades, Worthy won the 1988 NBA Finals MVP and eventually found his way to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.
