With the Orlando Magic winning on Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers secured a bottom-three record for the 2016-17 season. The Lakers are now in a two way race with the Phoenix Suns for the second worst record, and a 56% chance at a top-3 pick. But after winning their last two games, the Lakers are now at the mercy of the Suns.
Even though the Lakers are not guaranteed their pick, that hasn’t stopped one prospect from letting his thoughts be known. Lonzo Ball was recently quoted as saying he would prefer to play for the Lakers. Ball, who is from Los Angeles, said the reason for his desire to wear the purple and gold was so he could play in front of his family and friends.
The Lakers would love to land Lonzo, but we will all have to wait until the Draft Lottery on May 16th, when a few ping pong balls will decide the future of the Laker franchise.
