Lakers Nation News And Rumors Recap: The Latest On Summer League
Lakers News: Lavar Ball Says Nba Rookie Of The Year ‘done Deal’ For Lonzo Ball
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

After entering Summer League with high expectations, the Lakers have failed to live up to the hype. The team blew two double-digit leads before holding off the Sacramento Kings Monday night for their first win of the summer.

The Lakers have also seen their “star studded” lineup headlined by Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram succumb to injury. Ingram dominated in the team’s opening game against the Clippers before suffering a cramp in his leg. The Lakers, rightfully so, shut down the second year wing.

Hours before the Lakers tipped off against Sacramento the team announced that Ball and fellow rookie Kyle Kuzma, who scored 31 points in the team’s loss to the Celtics, would miss the game. However, behind the strong play of Alex Caruso and Vander Blue the Lakers were able to escape with a 95-92 victory over the Kings.

The Lakers will now wait until tomorrow to find out who they play next in the Summer League playoffs. Hopefully Ball and Kuzma will be able to return to the court.
