Lakers Nation Week in Review: Nov. 27 – Dec. 3

It’s been another busy week in the NBA as teams prepare for the official end of the lockout and the free agency period that is sure to take the league by storm. All 30 teams will be looking to improve their roster in a period of just two weeks before the exhibition games take place and the regular season finally begins.

As we hurdle towards Christmas and the debut of NBA basketball once again, here’s a look back at some of the biggest stories from the last week.

Mitch Kupchak and Mike Brown hold press conference to discuss roster, new season. Lakers general manager and new head coach Mike Brown held a press conference Friday to discuss the upcoming season and what to expect from the team during the free agency period.

Lakers state willingness to trade Andrew Bynum. The Lakers have expressed a firm reluctance to trade center Andrew Bynum in the past. However, a recent statement from the team says that “for the right price” they would consider moving the young center.

Top 10 Free Agents for 2011. As mentioned above, the free agency period will take the league like a tornado on Dec. 9. Here’s a look at the top available free agents that teams will be able to sign next week.

Lakers finalize 2-game exhibition schedule. The Lakers agreed to a 2-game exhibition schedule to prepare them for their opening day game with the Chicago Bulls on Dec. 25.

Lakers should consider Shane Battier during free agency. The Lakers may need some help off the bench this season, and veteran Shane Battier may be a strong addition that could greatly improve the play of the Los Angeles reserves.

Lakers could be interested in Grant Hill. Alan Hahn of Newsday reported that the Lakers are interested in the former Phoenix Suns forward.
