It’s been a big week of birthdays for the Lakers organization. After Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant celebrated birthdays earlier this week, now it’s time for another former Laker champion to blow out the birthday candles.

Robert Horry, who won three NBA Finals series with the Lakers during his career, is celebrating his 42nd birthday today. Horry, who won seven championships during his illustrious NBA career, was a key contributor on the Lakers back-to-back-to-back championship teams from 2000-02.

Perhaps Horry’s most famous moment with the Lakers came in the 2002 Western Conference Finals when he hit a game-winning three-pointer in Game 4 against the Sacramento Kings to tie the series 2-2. Horry, who won two championships with the Houston Rockets, three with L.A., and two more with the San Antonio Spurs, is known as one of the greatest role players of all time.

So, from everybody here at Lakers Nation, happy birthday Big Shot Rob! In honor of his birthday, here’s a fun song by the band Grand Incredible called Robert Horry Saves the Day. Enjoy.
