Lakers Nation Wishes Luke Walton Farewell

We here at Lakers Nation would like to thank Luke Walton for all he had done for the Lakers organization. Aside from Derek Fisher, the Los Angeles Lakers also said farewell to a long-time member today. Luke Walton has been traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers after spending his entire career in Los Angeles. Walton won two NBA titles with the Lakers and although he did not see a lot of playing time as of late, he was a major player in the team’s rotation early on.

Walton was loved by the coaching staff for his play making ability, and although he was not the most athletic player on the court, he was the perfect piece for the Triangle Offense.  Walton will be most remembered for his time playing for the Lakers during their rebuilding stage.

Walton played alongside Kobe Bryant and those two players had great chemistry on the court. Walton started for the Lakers in that time and he had to relinquish that spot after dealing with several injuries, including back complications.

Luke Walton will be most remembered for the jump-ball he won in the 2006 playoff series versus the Phoenix Suns.
