The Lakers have been decimated by injuries to every player who has even attempted to play point guard this season. While Steve Nash, Steve Blake, and Kobe Bryant are still a ways away from returning, the Lakers got an early Christmas gift with news that Jordan Farmar has been cleared to return for the Christmas Day matchup with the Miami Heat.
Farmar was in the midst of arguably his best stretch of basketball of his career, averaging just under 17 points and five assists in the three games before succumbing to the torn hamstring. He will return to a team in dire need of his poise and playmaking ability.
Also, after making comments critical of Laker fans after the team’s disappointing loss to the Phoenix Suns, coach Mike D’Antoni apologized today to the fans and referred to himself as an idiot.
