The transition for college players entering the National Basketball Association is a difficult one. The pressure for high draft picks to perform immediately is immense. For second overall pick Brandon Ingram, the pressure is even greater as he is basically stepping into the shoes of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

While the first few seasons are always a process, veterans along the way make the path easier. Rookies must become accustomed to the vigorous 82 game schedule, and learn how to adequately provide for themselves.

NBA legends often allude to the veterans that paved the way, stating their guidance allowed them to prevail. For the 19-year-old Ingram, his first NBA season will be filled with the highs and the lows.

Ingram was a guest on the The Herd with Colin Cowherd Monday morning, commenting on how other NBA players have offered advice and tidbits of help.

According to Serena Winters of Lakers Nation, one NBA veteran and NBA Champion has offered some crucial advice:

Iguodala, a 12-year veteran, has become a respected presence around the league. Now entering his 13th season in the league, he and the Golden State Warriors enter as the heavy favorites.

The one-time All-Star has kept in regular contact with Ingram, even offering some high praise for what Ingram can develop into:

The praise should be held in high regard, as Iguodala is noted around the league as a premiere athlete. His task guarding LeBron James during the 2014-15 NBA Finals earned him the NBA Finals MVP award, a highlight of his career.

Iguodala is also known for the defensive approach he took during the 2012 Olympics. The 2004-05 All Rookie selection guarded the best player for each respective country, while his teammates led the charge.

The athletic forward should be a mental reminder for Ingram and his outlook in the NBA. With hard word and determination, he can flourish into the top prospect many think he will become.

The Lakers begin training camp in about a week, with the Lakers rookies, Ingram and Zubac, anxious to get their first full season underway.
