On the night where Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant returned to the starting lineup from their injuries, there was hope that perhaps the injury bug was starting to relinquish its hold on the Lakers this season. Well, just as this season has proved, nothing can be predicted.
On top of a disappointing loss, where the Lakers gave up an 18-point lead to the Washington Wizards, the injury bug resurfaced in the third quarter. This time it caught Antawn Jamison who was attempting a dunk on the Wizards’ Kevin Seraphin. Seraphin blocked Jamison’s attempt and Jamison’s dunk attempt resulted in him spraining his wrist.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Antawn Jamison suffered a sprained right wrist in Friday’s 103-100 loss to the Washington Wizards. X-rays taken after the game were negative, however Jamison is scheduled to undergo a MRI exam on Saturday to further evaluate the injury.
Jamison was having a very solid game up until his point of injury, posting 11 points and seven rebounds on 5-9 shooting. Jamison sat the rest of the game, and watched his team loss control of the game.
Jamison has improved his play of late as he has settled into his role on the team. Jamison’s contribution will be important as the Lakers try to get back on track, and finish the season strong. He is averaging 9.2 points and 4.7 rebounds coming off the bench for the Lakers this season.
