The Los Angeles Lakers have fired head coach Mike Brown and the front office’s search for a new man in already underway. However, the Lakers have a game to play tonight against the Golden State Warriors, meaning someone will have to run the sidelines.
Brown revamped his coaching staff this summer and Mike Bresnahan from the Los Angeles Times tweets that assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff will be leading the Lakers tonight.
Asst. Coach Bernie Bickerstaff will coach tonight’s game vs. GS but the Lakers will conduct a national search to replace Mike Brown.

At this point, there have been many names rumored to the become the next Lakers head coach. It is unlikely that the front office will name one of the assistant coaches as the interim head coach, so expect the a high profile name to join the Lakers some time soon.
The Lakers are currently standing at 1-4 and there was questions about Brown’s future with the team shortly after the loss to the Utah Jazz. Los Angeles has been struggling all season long, and his firing was not all that of a surprise.
