Over the course of his NBA career, Kobe Bryant has earned the reputation as one of the hardest working players in the league. Kobe is relentless in his efforts to improve his game,p year in and year out.

As a result of his tireless work ethic, Kobe has won five NBA titles, two gold medals and achieved countless milestones while being regarded as one of the greatest NBA players of all time.

With Kobe’s reputation for incredible work ethic, other players looking to improve their skill set have noticed and taken notes. Blake Griffin of the rival Los Angeles Clippers is one of those players. Griffin said the following about a story he heard about Kobe’s work ethic via Robert Morales of the L.A. Daily News:

“I’ve heard millions of Kobe (Bryant) stories about late-night workouts,” said Griffin, whose team takes on Detroit on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Staples Center. “One I heard, one time I guess he was in Italy and called Marco Belinelli (of the Spurs) at like 1, 2 o’clock in the morning and asked him if he had a gym for him, and so Marco found him one and he went there to shoot with him.

“And he (Belinelli) was like, ‘I thought we were going to just get some shots up, but we had like a full workout.’ Things like that. That’s work ethic, real worth ethic. It’s not just coming in when you have to and going hard. It’s doing extra, going above and beyond.”

With Kobe recovering from a knee fracture and having a big chip on his shoulder, the five-time NBA champion will likely revert back to his old ways in terms of working extremely hard in the off-season. Kobe will have all the motivation and time needed to make a full recovery over the summer while the Lakers try to make some moves to surround him with talent in the twilight of his career.

There’s no telling if Kobe will ever get back to form as an elite player in the NBA, but there’s no doubt he’ll give it everything he’s got in order to continuing chasing a sixth ring.
