The Los Angeles Lakers have not gotten off to the best start possible as the team has struggled to 3-11 in the first month of the season. One ongoing issue with the team is the injury problem which has plagued the team for the last couple of years.

The most recent loss, with Xavier Henry falling to a torn Achilles, has many wondering if the Lakers will soon make an addition to the roster. According to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters, Byron Scott has yet to discuss that with General Manager Mitch Kupchak:
Byron Scott says he hasn't yet discussed w/ Mitch Kupchak whether they'll be adding to their roster.

That discussion could be coming soon as Winters reports that Scott is set to meet with Kupchak today, though the subject of the discussion is unknown:
Byron Scott also said he'll be meeting with Kupchak today, though it's not clear whether that's something they'll discuss.

The Lakers have worked out a number of potential players at multiple positions. Quincy Miller is a wing player, while Tyrus Thomas is a power forward. Point guards Gal Mekel and Dwight Buycks have also been mentioned as possible pickups for the Lakers.
The team has been in discussions with the NBA on the possibility of being granted a hardship waiver that would allow the team to sign a player without having to cut someone. Which player they are leaning towards, if any, is not known, but with discussions between the GM and coach, a move could be on the horizon.
