Lakers News: Chris Kaman Day-to-Day With Back Soreness

kamanCompared to last season, the injury issues for the Lakers this year have been minimal. Outside of the drama of when Kobe will return to the court and Steve Nash’s ongoing fight to re-discover his previous form, things have been far better than expected.

However, there may now be something to keep an eye on as our own Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters reported on why Chris Kaman sat out practice:

For the time being, the injury doesn’t seem to be alarming and while Kaman’s status for Friday’s game is unknown, there has been nothing to suggest that the big man will not be available against the Warriors.

Of course, Laker fans know that these seemingly minor injuries can quickly turn into major ones so this is worth keeping an eye on, especially when it involves someone with Kaman’s lengthy injury history. Kaman has been an integral part of the Lakers big man rotation as he, Jordan Hill, and Pau Gasol have been formidable for the most part this season.

This season Kaman is averaging just over eight points and five rebounds in 17 minutes per game.
