Lakers News: Gasol, Kaman, Nash Out vs. Clippers, Young To Play

Even with the season coming to an end in a couple of weeks, the Lakers injury issues refuse to let up even a little bit.

With the final meeting against the Clippers coming up on Sunday, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin gave an update on the status of a number of Lakers:

This will be the third consecutive game missed by both Chris Kaman and Pau Gasol. Nash was originally believed to be playing in his last game of the season last night, but now it seems as if Nash will make another appearance this season.

Young playing is also good news. His status was up in the air after rolling his ankle in the fourth quarter of last night’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks, but he will give it a go and the Lakers need as many weapons as possible as they look to even the season series against the Clippers.

Gasol struggled in his first game back from a bout with vertigo and seemed to concede that he may have come back too early. Kaman has struggled with a strained calf since Tuesday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

With both big men out, expect a lot of Robert Sacre, Jordan Hill, and Ryan Kelly to continue to see a lot of minutes, as well as Wesley Johnson to find himself back in the rotation.
