The MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference is taking place this weekend and Phil Jackson seems to be a big part of everything going on right now.

Yesterday he spoke about Shaquille O’Neal’s work ethic and how it contributed to the rift between he and Kobe Bryant.

Today, Lakers Executive Vice President Jeanie Buss spoke about Jackson and according to Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch, said he has really embraced the new social media age:

Jackson has always been somewhat of a progressive person, so it shouldn’t be surprising that he really likes Twitter. It gives him a place to impart knowledge on young people, and there is hardly a larger, or more embracing forum than Twitter.

Jackson got off to a rough start when he first joined Twitter, but has since used the medium to connect with other celebrities, and support his former team.

With the wealth of knowledge that Jackson has, it is great to see him finding new, simple ways to spread it out to people all over the world.
