Lakers News: Kobe Bryant Begins 2015 Nike RISE Campaign In China

Kobe Bryant has traveled to China, where he joins Nike athletes Anthony Davis, Paul George, and LeBron James in his phase for the 2015 Nike RISE Campaign. The players will have visited Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai by the time the RISE campaign concludes.

Kobe arrived in China this weekend to begin a five-day visit to China, which marks his 10th time visiting the country. Fans waited for the arrival of Kobe at the airport for hours. Kobe also has a Weibo account and has been communicating with China fans through a mediator, and many had been expecting his arrival.

Kobe’s first stop was Guangzhou, China, where he was quick to meet some of the Nike RISE campaign participants. The RISE campaign consists of aspiring young athletes participating in a tournament expanding various cities under the guidance of Nike. In Guangzhou, Kobe was a spectator for a dunk contest and gave players some tips.

Kobe will participate in a number of different Nike RISE events to evaluate the players, train, and make cuts in the ongoing tournament, before returning home. Kobe will be followed by LeBron James, as the Nike RISE campaign continues.
