VIDEO: Kobe Bryant Can’t Spin A Basketball On His Finger

Throughout his storied career, Kobe Bryant has proven that there is nothing he cannot do. Scoring in every way imaginable? Check. Drop 15 assists in a game? Got it. Lock down the other team’s best player? No problem. Play through every nagging injury possible and still lead his team to championships? Piece of cake.

However, Kobe does struggle with one thing. He cannot spin a basketball on his index finger. There was a video posted (courtesy of KB824Legend) of Kobe during his trip to China, and in it he reveals that he never learned how to spin a basketball on his finger (at 4:30 mark):

To be fair, spinning a basketball on your finger is not really a necessary basketball skill, and Kobe was obviously too busy learning how to split a pick-and-roll or put defenders on a poster to focus on that. Also, as he pointed out, he fractured that index finger, which never properly healed, making it even more difficult to spin.

If there is one basketball skill to lack, it’s the ability to spin a basketball on your finger. When you have perfected everything else like Kobe has, it only makes sense that one thing slips through the cracks.
