By now I’m sure you’ve heard the news that Kobe Bryant and his mother are caught in a bit of a legal battle over some of Kobe’s memorabilia that was reportedly in his mother’s possession. Now, according to TMZ (who surprisingly reported the initial story first), Bryant is counter-suing for upwards of a million dollars.

Bryant’s mother, Pamela, gave some of his items to an auction house, prompting the initial dispute. Apparently things got even dicier when he offered to buy her a house in Las Vegas that she refused, hoping for one that was more expensive.

Here’s the latest update from TMZ;

Now Kobe has countersued the auction house, claiming Pamela stole some of the items from his home and refuses to return many other items that Kobe left at her house when he grew up and left.

I guess it’s the off-season when the Lakers are making news on TMZ, but that’s how it goes in Los Angeles.

The most recent news concerning Bryant and his injured Achilles involves Kobe posting a picture of his now cast-less leg, which continues to sound encouraging, as he continues his rehab.
