When you have a 20-year NBA career at the level of that of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, you are bound to interact with a number of different celebrities. In some instances, altercations may even occur between the two famous parties.

That was supposedly the case between Bryant and hip-hop mogul Master P some years ago. According to Master P, he and Kobe had a heated exchange during a pickup game at the Lakers practice facility and things would have escalated if not for Lamar Odom.

Bryant, however, doesn’t remember any of this. In an appearance on the Jim Rome Podcast, Kobe explained he didn’t recall any sort of incident with the rapper:

“Yeah, what is that? Dude, I don’t even know what the hell that is. I have no idea what he’s talking about. I literally do not remember that. Granted, I played for a very, very long time. I just don’t remember it. I’m not calling him a liar or anything like that, that’d be something tough to make up. I just don’t remember it. … Maybe L.O. remembers it or something like that.”

A story of Kobe getting heated with someone during a game of basketball isn’t far fetched in any way. For someone as competitive as Kobe, altercations are almost guaranteed if the game is intense enough.

After all, he did attempt to fight Shaquille O’Neal during their early days as teammates.

Master P (real name Percy Miller) is no slouch himself, even gaining a training camp invite with the Toronto Raptors back in 1999. As Kobe noted, making up a story like this would be pretty hard, not to mention random. He simply has no recollection of it and considering how long he was around, that makes sense.

At this point the only person who can verify anything looks to be Lamar Odom so all we can do is wait for his side of the story.
