Lakers News: Kobe Bryant Tweets Before First Game Versus Raptors

NBA: Memphis Grizzlies at Los Angeles LakersIt’s the moment all Los Angeles Lakers fans, players and members of the organization have been waiting for: Kobe Bryant’s return. The 35-year-old guard announced his return in a dramatic video and will be in the starting lineup tonight against the Toronto Raptors.

Eight months removed from tearing his Achilles, Bryant will be back on the court and the entire NBA world will be watching. After practice this morning, Bryant took to Twitter with another cryptic message:

While he doesn’t have a strict minutes limit, head coach Mike D’Antoni anticipates playing him in the 20-minute range as the Lakers weathered the storm without their superstar guard. With chemistry that wasn’t there last season, the 2013-14 Lakers play for each other and Bryant should fit right in.

There’s also the possibility of him playing some point guard as Steve Blake is the teams only true point guard and Bryant showed last season that he can facilitate when he wants. It’ll be interesting to see how he looks after so much time off, but the Lakers and D’Antoni will ease him as they look to continue their great play.

Welcome back, Bean.
