After his double-double performance against the Utah Jazz, Kendall Marshall shared that he gained 9,000 followers on Twitter, but was still waiting for Kobe Bryant to follow him back.

Speaking to the media for the first time since fracturing his left knee, Bryant was informed about Marshall’s Twitter request. Although he wasn’t aware that Marshall tweeted him, the five-time champion says he will follow the point guard according to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Heading into tonight’s game, there are a lot of expectations for Marshall after his first start. While head coach Mike D’Antoni initially said that he wasn’t playing Marshall because he didn’t know what he could do, injuries have forced him into the starting lineup.

In his first career start for the Lakers, Marshall had 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 15 assists. The former 2012 lottery pick showed the ability to shoot from range and created opportunities for his teammates. It will be interesting to see how he does against one of the fastest players in the league in Denver’s Ty Lawson.
