Lakers News: Lakers Sign Chris Douglas-Roberts

The Los Angeles Lakers have added another player to the training camp roster by signing Chris Douglas-Roberts, the team announced on Monday.

Douglas-Roberts selected by the New Jersey Nets in the second round (40th overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft out of the University of Memphis. The 6’7” forward has bounced around a few times since coming out of Memphis playing in 155 games in the NBA with the Nets and Milwaukee Bucks.

After playing in New Jersey and Milwaukee, Douglas-Roberts headed overseas to play for Virtus Bologna in Italy. This is the same Italian League team that attempted to sign Kobe Bryant during the NBA lockout.

During his NBA career, Douglas-Roberts averaged 7.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. Those numbers went up considerably during his time in Italy averaging 12.3 points and 3.0 rebounds per game with Virtus Bologna.

As many other training camp additions to the team, Douglas-Roberts is a long shot to make the final roster.
